About me

My name is Martina Radilová and painting is a way for me to slow down for a moment and look at things differently.

5 facts about me

  1. I paint with blue most often, but my favorite color is purple.

I don't know how it happened, but blue keeps coming back to my paintings.

  2. I am fascinated by chance — in life and on canvas.

That's why spots, splashes, layers, and small "accidents" often appear in my paintings, which eventually start to make sense.

  3. I was accepted into the art department at the Primary Art School when I was 4 years old.

Since then, I keep coming back to drawing and painting. Sometimes more, sometimes less, but it never completely disappeared.

  4. Originally, I wanted to be a fashion designer.

I succeeded in the talent exams for fashion design at the School of Applied Arts in Trenčín (and finished second 💪), but in the end, I decided for a mathematical gymnasium 🙂.

  5. I make a living by programming and I love my job. Mostly. 😉

But sometimes a change is needed. Something calmer, slower, and more intuitive. And that's exactly why I paint.

I believe that every painting carries a piece of fate, a bit of chance, and that is what makes it unique. I am happy to share this world of colors and thoughts with you. Perhaps you will find something in it that speaks to you, reminds you of something personal, or simply brings you joy. I hope my paintings will be as enriching for you as the process of creating them is for me.
